About 13 Daze

13 Daze are a 4 piece rock band with 15 years of history playing packed out venues and festivals internationally. From humble beginnings in the Red Sea of Egypt in 2009, 13 Daze have gone on to build a solid following in Dubai and have been part of festivals such as Egypt Moving Forward at the temple of Luxor to Party In The Park Dubai alongside bands such as Kaiser Chiefs, Travis & the Charlatans. Dubai "battle of the bands" winners in 2019 & Abu Dhabi 2022 with Multiple Timeout & What's on nominations and highly commended best local band in the 2018 Timeout Nightlife awards. The band are currently in their 15th year and are working on their first studio album.

The Band relocated to the UAE in 2016 to officially open the now famous venue Lock Stock & Barrel. They have gone on to open and play in each and every one of these venues including a week long series of shows in Russia.

13 Daze are a band that aim to hit hard with every performance, choosing unexpected covers and big rock classics. Offering both full-on big shows as well as stripped down 'MTV unplugged style' acoustic sessions. Original music is a big part of the bands DNA, and takes central focus when performing at festivals or competitions.

13 Daze fill in for liam gallagher

29th october 2022 - Club social, yas links, abu dhabi

On Saturday morning the band were in a soundcheck for another gig when they received the call that Liam Gallagher was unable to make it to the event. At that point the band had to motor over to Abu Dhabi ASAP to soundcheck. From 9 till 10pm 13 Daze were lucky enough to play out to the thousands in attendance and are extremely grateful to the organisers for the opportunity and the faith in the band to deliver.

Straight off stage and in the car again to make it back in time to Dubai for a Saturday night show in Lock Stock & Barrel :-)

13 daze win big at battle of the bands

30th october 2022 - Abu dhabi

On Sunday evening the band went head to head with 6 other of the UAEs top Bands and took home first prize after an evening filled with incredible music.

13 Daze showcased their original tracks "Bassline Soldier" and "Nobody's favorite band" along with some of their favorite covers to round out the 20 minute set.

Big hitters and award winners also took to the stage including The Boxtones, The Tasty Biscuits, Problem Child, The Black Dunes, The Ark Angelz and 13 Daze LSB team mates Gorgeous George.

Who are these people?

THE FRONT

Gaz Hanford (UK) - Lead vocals & Guitar

Gaz started the band in 2009 with a few surfer friends while living in Egypt. Taking on a wide variety of shows from solo performances to all out festivals across the country.

Since then the band has been through many different variations but always sticking to the main vision of having fun and doing kick ass shows. Gaz is the only remaining member of the original line-up and is committed to taking the band to the next level.

the lead

tristan surina (fr) - LeaD GUItar

Tristan joined 13 Daze in 2015 and was an important part of making the bands relocation to Dubai the huge success that it was.

He was in the crowd at the bands debut gig back in the early days as his Dad was the lead guitarist at the time.

Since joining Tristan has become a huge feature of every show, as well as being deeply involved in the writing process.....oh, and of course melting peoples faces with solos week in week out.

The groove

Frank Bassiouni (EGY) - Bass/Vocals

Frank has a rich musical background and has been part of many live music projects and bands.

A multi-instrumentalist, Frank excels in guitar, bass & drums. But joined 13 Daze in 2021 as their bassist. Since joining Frank has become the absolute backbone of the show and is heavily involved with writing and arrangement.

THE BEATS

Santiago Torres (UY) - Drums

Santiago first joined the band in 2016 as an absoloute saviour. He was a huge part of festivals like Party In The Park and also with the bands first studio recording.

Santi is an absolute professional with an impressive music CV. He left the band in 2018 to finish music school in Sweden and is making a much welcome return in 2022!
